Vacancy for Trust Treasurer
At the moment David Dilnot is carrying out the role of Project Manager and Treasurer and the Board recognise it is difficult to carry out these two roles and want to allow David to concentrate on co-ordinating the Project and have a dedicated Treasurer in place.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with an accounting background to become involved with the running of the Trust. It is expected that the candidate would become a Trustee. It is not essential that candidates have a formal accountancy qualification.
The Treasurer’s main responsibilities are:
- Banking monies received, paying suppliers and maintenance of the annual account in conjunction with the auditors.
- Provision of reports on the Trust’s finances for each Board meeting.
- Completing and submitting Gift Aid claims for repayment of Income Tax on subscriptions and donations.
- Assistance with financial input into the Trust’s Business Plans and periodic financial forecasts.
- Preparing draft annual accounts for auditors and liaising with them.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Submitting financial information to external funders to their deadlines.
The Treasurer reports directly to the Chairman but also works closely with the Membership Secretary and Sales Officers.
